PRESIDENT’S LETTER

joe

Dear fellow members,

Our first month of 2020 has been a busy one. I am pleased to share that we now have a Terminal City Club app that you can download and connect yourself directly to our Club. I’ve been a beta tester the last few weeks and it has the ability to connect and engage with the Club from your phone. You can make a reservation to an event, lunch, or inquire about catering space for your next strategic session. The app also allows you to view your statements, TCC House Rules, provide feedback, and more. I encourage you to download it on your smartphone today. Keep your eye on the member events page as it is always changing.

With the New Year in mind, we have also made WiFi upgrades around the Club. This should allow you to peruse the new app with ease. The new WiFi will only require you to log in a few times per year. Please see Member Services or staff for updated login information.

Our 45-Day Fitness Challenge is off to a terrific start. We’ve never had so many members participate in the challenge before. To all of our 108 members in the challenge, keep up the good work. You are more than halfway to completing 45 work outs in 58 days. This challenge is a wonderful way to get yourself off to a good start in 2020 and stay active in our facilities.

The Club has been busy with many events. From member-led events like the Discussion Group, Book Club, Digital Dinners, Travel Group and TCC Salons, we have plenty happening that you may want to consider attending.

Fiscal results upon the end of our first quarter October – December 2019, are tracking well on schedule. We welcome the 47 members who joined the Club this past month! With the newly renovated Members’ Lounge in full swing, we know we will be seeing you around the Club.

We would like to take a moment to thank all of the members who attended our first WSET Level 1 course offering facilitated by our Director of Wine, DJ Kearney. This sold out event was a great success. The next WSET 1 course offering is scheduled for Sunday, March 22 & 29. Given the interest in Level 1, we plan to offer WSET Level 2 in the spring.

For the month ahead, here are a few of the many of exciting events to look forward to:

  • One I will be attending with my daughter: the annual Father Daughter Gala, Saturday February 8
  • Valentine’s Day Dinner in 1892 on Friday, February 14 – reserve your table early!
  • Complimentary Members’ Wine Tasting, Wednesday, February 19
  • Gourmet Dinner: French Dinner with French Wines, Friday, February 21
  • Two TCC Salons this month: Reimagining K-12 Education on Wednesday, February 5 and Resilience in Aging on Thursday, February 20

I wish everyone a very happy Family Day and look forward to seeing you around the Club.

Respectfully,

Joe Corea
Terminal City Club President
