DEAR FELLOW MEMBERS,

Here we are at Labour Day, and the warmest parts of summer are most likely behind us. But with luck, rain jackets can hold off for a while, and you will still have time to enjoy TCC’s wonderful patios with friends, colleagues, and family before true autumn days arrive.

Beginning this month, our new, spectacularly renovated Members’ Lounge will be open and in full service. This project was approved by our Board last year. We spent many months in design planning and to obtain various permits from government agencies. Construction started a couple months ago, and I am happy to report that I have already received many positive comments from our members. I hope you will join us for the Lounge Grand Opening on September 4 at 5:00 p.m. I would like to thank our hard-working contractors, designer, staff, and Board, as this project would not have been possible without their careful planning and commitment to the vision. I believe that all our members will find their membership even more valuable now, with this new and unique amenity.

In celebration of our new Members’ Lounge Wine Lockers, two special events are scheduled for September:
• Wine Locker Talk with TCC’s Director of Wine, DJ Kearney, on September 11, 6 – 8 p.m. This exclusive event is for members who have purchased wine lockers in the Members’ Lounge.
• Master Class Series: Winter Wines with DJ Kearney, September 20, 6 – 8 p.m. Reserve your spot for the first session in this Wine Master Class series, limited to 60 participants.

September 30 also marks the end of the TCC fiscal year. I am pleased to report that the Club financials continue to be strong, even throughout the minor service disruptions that were necessary to complete our new Lobby Doors and updated Members’ Lounge. We continue to lower our bank debt to reduce interest payments, so that we may put the money saved, to improve our facilities and services. The Lions Pub is having a particularly strong year, and the food and beverage business was terrific. TCC’s patios were well utilized, and the Grill kitchen has been busier than ever. A sincere thanks to you – our members – for making such great use of your Club!

With 21 days remaining in our 94 Days of Summer, we still have lots to keep you and your guests busy, including a few more pop-up events on our patios.

There are plenty of exciting events coming up this fall including:

Our Annual Gala, November 2
• 1892 Pop-Up Dinner, September 18
• Gourmet Dinner, September 27
• Members’ Wine Tasting, September 18

Please be sure to reserve for these events in advance, so our hospitality team can deliver the best experience possible.

I look forward to seeing you in the new Members’ Lounge, or at one of these exciting events.

Sincerely,

Dr. Ignatius Cheung
Terminal City Club President
