We are approaching the end of our third fiscal quarter, and your Board of Directors and Club executive have recently completed our strategic planning session for the coming year. It’s my pleasure to report that we continue to be ahead of targets on most of our key performance indicators this year, which is great news for the stability and vitality of our Club.
Recently, we requested your feedback via the annual Member Survey. Thank you to the 440 members who responded; your comments informed our discussion at the strategic planning session, and also inspired us to try out a change in our facilities: 1892 will be open for dinner from 5 – 9 p.m., throughout the summer. Pending demand, the Club will look at options to keep 1892 open for dinner on a regular basis.
In March, we were very proud to unveil the Member Wall, a visual commemoration of our 125-year history and in celebration of you, our valued members. This splendid display inspired a few of your fellow members to purchase a plaque, creating their legacy by contributing to your Club; as you know, proceeds from the Member Wall are used to further enhance your TCC experience. There are only so many plaques left, so I encourage you to speak with our Member Services team to learn more, or to secure your spot on the Member Wall today.
The summer months are some of the finest to take advantage of your TCC membership. “Working out” in our Fitness Centre is a glorious experience when you have such an amazing view of the sparkling North Shore mountains, and of course afterwards you can take in the sun and fresh breeze – along with a drink and light fare – outside on the Fitness Centre Patio. Some other opportunities coming up:
– Zajac Nights on Friday, June 2. We are very pleased to have the opportunity to host this incredible party for a third year. This year’s theme is The Roaring 20s, and it is definitely on the not-to-be-missed list. Tickets are available at zajacnights.com.
– TCC Prospective Member Event on Wednesday, July 19. Our membership continues to build, and it’s our goal to keep that momentum steady. There is no better time to show off your Club than during summer, so please do bring your friends, colleagues, or associates to this event. As an added incentive, both you and any new Resident or Corporate member whom you successfully refer will receive a $250 club credit.
– The Annual Terminal City Club Golf Tournament on Monday, September 25. This year’s tournament will be held at Point Grey Golf and Country Club, and will once again support the Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation. This is an excellent opportunity to entertain clients or colleagues in a relaxed setting, or just to enjoy a fantastic round of golf with friends. Space is limited, so reserve your spot with Member Services today. Build your own team of four, or sign up on your own.
But even without any special agenda planned, you just won’t find a better spot to enjoy these early summer days than on one of our four patios. Remember, summer entertaining season is barely around the corner, so book your work and social gatherings now as a BBQ on a patio is always a highlight. As always, your support and participation as a member is appreciated.
Looking forward to seeing you on one of our patios soon!
