Dear Fellow Members,
Happy New Year, and welcome to 2018. You have survived the holiday season and lived to tell about it! You may now exhale.
January can mark the beginning of many new things – and an exercise regime is a proven winner in the “feel great” category. Sergio and the team in the Fitness Centre have signaled the start of Terminal City Club’s annual 45-Day Fitness Challenge, and they are there to help you make it! The goal is 45 workouts in 57 days. That’s just enough time to get a positive new habit entrenched.
For me personally, this January marks the beginning of my year-long role as TCC president, and I am honoured and excited to take up the task. I am grateful to Mr. Grant Weaver for his leadership over the past year. It was clear at our Annual General Meeting in December that the Club enjoyed another solid year in both membership growth and business, under his guidance. I will do my best to continue this trajectory.
Of course, January is also that time of re-stocking and re-furbishing. “Out with the old, and in with the new” as they say. (This does not refer to club presidents – only to furniture.) So, check out the renderings for the new proposed wall and door that will soon be installed in our lobby entrance area, creating a much-improved welcome experience for both members and their guests. We can look forward to the completion of this upgrade before spring blooms.
For now, I’d like to leave you with a kernel of thought that I hope will develop over this year. I joined as a Terminal City Club member in 2003. Since then, I have been a regular at our Fitness Centre; hosted countless business and social events of various sizes; and enjoyed many hours of dining, socializing, and/or just hanging out here. But one of the things that I have appreciated most during that time is the unique atmosphere, advantages, and opportunities that a private club can offer its members. I believe that the TCC Board of Directors and executive have been on the right track over the past few years, with a pronounced focus on engaging our members and working hard to deliver an exceptional member experience. The growth in our business and our membership numbers also support this strategic direction. This year, I hope to continue to uncover your thoughts about what makes membership in a private club like TCC special. So, don’t be too surprised if I ask you something along those lines the next time we meet!
Until then, I wish you and your family a very happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year. I look forward to seeing you around the club soon.

Dress Code: Smart Casual
Unless otherwise specified, all areas of the Club, including the Grill Room, 1892, Cuvée Wine Bar, patios and private function rooms have a dress code of smart casual. Smart casual attire includes collared or turtle neck shirts, golf or knee length shorts, and dress pants. Similar attire is required for ladies. Denim is acceptable provided a collared shirt is worn and denim is of a solid colour with no fading, tears or patches.
All footwear is to be clean and smart. Casual thong footwear is not permitted outside of the fitness centre.
