The Barossa Valley wine region is one of Australia’s oldest wine regions. Located in South Australia, the Barossa Valley is about 56 km northeast of the city of Adelaide. Unlike most of Australia whose wine industry was heavily influenced by the British, the wine industry of the Barossa Valley was founded by German settlers. Wine has been a way of life in the Barossa since 1842. The Barossa incorporates both Barossa Valley and Eden Valley, making it one of the only areas in Australia to have neighbouring warm and cool climate growing conditions.
There are some 750 grape growing families, many sixth generation, supplying quality grapes to more than 170 wine companies of all shapes and sizes. The best wines of the Barossa sit comfortably alongside the great wines of the world. Barossa Shiraz and Eden Valley Riesling have led the way as regional heroes, with Cabernet Sauvignon, Mataro, Grenache, Viognier, Semillon and Tawny all contributing to the Barossa’s standing as one of the world’s great wine regions. With such a diversity of growing conditions and soil types across both valleys, and vineyards that have been tended by hand for many generations, you are bound to find a wine to call your own.
Barossa Valley Estate Shiraz, 2012
Alluring exotic spice with vibrant flavours of red plum and fresh blackberry.
Barossa Valley Estate Grenache Shiraz Mourvedre, 2012
Fragrant violet with a burst of red berryfruits lingering softly on a velvety texture.
Barossa Valley Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, 2012
Expressive dark plum with a seductive blackcurrant richness.
E&E Black Pepper Shiraz, 2008
This 2008 wine is destined to be remembered for showing intense colour, powerful fruit concentration, rich textural palate structure, opulence and great depth of varietal fruit flavor. Deep earthen red with a purple hue. Ripe dark fruits, fragrant blackberry and spice. Fine dark chocolate, hazelnut, pepper, soy and gentle oak. Generous, yet elegant fruit. Blackberry, ripe cherry and dark plum fruit with full and soft texture and excellent length.
Ebenezer Shiraz 2008
Vibrant deep red with a purple hue. There are intense aromas of blackberry and blueberry fruits, liquorice and dark chocolate. The nose leads to a layered palate of blackberries and savoury spices. A concentrated mid-palate is balanced by a fine, elegant finish. A great example of Barossa Valley Shiraz.
